27. Fatherhood Arrives

27. Fatherhood Arrives

Who will hear my wife's desperate call

Her water's broken and she's in the hall

At the hospital I cry at the birth

Our healthy child has graced the earth

Currently, I am not a father but who knows what lies in the future. My brother has two lovely children, but no not me.  My dad and brother say seeing your child being born is one of the most amazing things in life, but my dad didn’t really see any of his children being born, due to medical practices of the time. Men wasn’t allowed in the delivery room. They could only enter once the mother had finished doing all the hard work by herself. Thankfully, things have changed, and men are allowed to be with their partner through the labour to the birth.
